The Royal Artillery is the only regiment in the British Army to have a cross country built to such a high standard and offers a range of other facilities to outside event organisers.
Cross Country Course
The cross country course has been built and designed by Andrew Fell. All the fences are built to British Eventing Standards and currently includes a BE90, BE100 and BE Novice course.
Cross Country Schooling
The course is available for schooling. In time a separate schooling field will be developed.
For Hunter Trials the fences are generally classified as :
- Yellow for Novice Classes (fences approx 2'6" or 80cm)
- Green for Intermediate (fences approx 3' or 90cm)
- Blue for Open (fences approx 3'6" or 1.05cm )
- Red for the new 60-70cm course
Other times the course will be coded by British Eventing colours - Orange (90cm), Pink (100cm) and Yellow Novice (110cm).
For event organisers wishing to hold events, showjumping or combined training competitions areas can be made available for Showjumping arena.
For event organisers wishing to hold dressage competions areas can be made available for dressage arenas on Knighton Down.
The Queens Building
This fantastic facility is available to hire for events, with full kitchen facilities and large function room with stunning viewing of the course it is ideal for entertaining sponsors.
Horse box and visitor parking is available on the racecourse.
